Steve Wilks joined a short list of coaches who were fired after one season.

Wilks was the first coach in franchise history since 1952 to last just one season with the Cardinals.

Before Wilks, the most recent NFL coach to not make it to year two was Chip Kelly, who was fired by the San Francisco 49ers after finishing 2-14 in 2016.

Other notable one-and-done coaches include Hue Jackson (Oakland Raiders, 2011), Jim Mora (Seattle Seahawks, 2009) and Pete Carroll (New York Jets, 1994).

Wilks is the fifth one-and-done coach this decade.

Some coaches were fired for worse records than Wilks’ 3-13 season — Cam Cameron’s 2007 Miami Dolphins went 1-15.
