Wide receiver Marquise Brown caught the ball over the middle, evaded a tackler, broke another tackle and found the end zone for the Arizona Cardinals in the first half Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brown’s Herculean effort after the catch put Arizona on the board with its first opening half touchdown since Week 1 and second of the year.

The catch was Brown’s third of the game on four targets. He also caught a 14-yard pass from quarterback Kyler Murray on second-and-12 to continue the touchdown drive.

The Cardinals needed the offensive boost after getting shut out in the first quarter for the fifth straight game this year.

They moved the ball again toward the end of the first half, thanks in part to a successful fake punt conversion in which a direct snap went to running back Darrel Williams.

Arizona drove down to the Philadelphia 2-yard line with three seconds left in the quarter and kicked a field goal.

Despite falling behind 14-0, the Cardinals went into the break down by four. They have had more success after the break this year, entering Week 5 ranked No. 2 in the league in second-half points.
