Cardinals’ Zaven Collins out vs. Packers due to shoulder injury

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Zaven Collins exited Thursday night’s 24-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers due to a right shoulder injury.

Collins exited during a Packers drive in the late first quarter after a run by Green Bay running back A.J. Dillon.

The rookie linebacker was being blocked and dove while extending his right arm to try and tackle Dillon. When Collins fully extended, he didn’t have any way of bracing for a fall and appeared to land right on that shoulder.

Collins immediately grabbed at the shoulder and stayed down for a minute before exiting the game and being evaluated in the medical tent. He was initially labeled as questionable to return in the first half before being ruled out at halftime.

The 22-year-old has started six of his eight NFL games with 17 total tackles and one tackle for loss.

Cardinals rookie safety James Wiggins was also ruled out due to a knee injury sustained on punt coverage.
