Cardinals’ embarrassments hopefully not preventing Carson Beck from being active
You hope the fear of further embarrassment isn’t the driving force behind the Cardinals' decision, Dan Bickley says.
Watch: Bickley Blast: Are the Cardinals not playing Carson Beck out of fear? | 1 min
It’s been a season of discontent for Cardinals fans.
They raised money to purchase billboards imploring Michael Bidwill to sell the team. Over 800 more have signed an online petition asking him to do the same. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray is unbeaten in Minnesota and Marvin Harrison Jr. is wearing a Texans jersey. And from a few online clips that surfaced on Wednesday, he already looks like a different player.
These are dangerous times for our sunken NFL team. Landmines are everywhere. And you hope all these factors are not the reason why Carson Beck is still in mothballs.
In other words: You hope the fear of further embarrassment, at a time when the Birdgang has never been more agitated, isn’t the driving force behind the decision.
I also believe the Cardinals need some grace on this decision because they know way better than us what Beck’s current level of preparedness happens to be.
And maybe they fear a premature debut might do more harm than good, to the player and the current perception of the organization.
But I also believe Beck should be active, helmet in hand, ready for mop-up duty should any of the next six games get sideways. And unfortunately, there’s a pretty good chance of that happening in the very near future.

Sell the TEAM!!!!!!
Bidwill is cheap, arrogant, abusive and so far away from being a committed to win owner! He alone is crushing the fan base, and hurting the league!
If history has shown that we can win with experienced football minds running the show, then why are we ALWAYS hiring 1st time projects?
Answer - the owner Michael Bidwill is another Sterling/Sarver type that is POWER drunk with the NEED to be the King of his Kingdom!
As evidenced
- by the constant barrage of lawsuits for discrimination, racism and abuse
- by the NFLPA annual last place grades
- by refusing to max out the salary cap as promised
- by refusing to pay up for BA, who then goes to Tampa and wins a SB
- by refusing to pay up for Sean Payton, who now has made Denver a SB Contender, with a vaunted Defense, led by our former DC Vance Joseph..
- by refusing to pay up for top assistants, scouts and personnel
- by hiring yes men who won’t dare challenge his authority
The above is BAD, it’s toxic BAD, and it really explains why we are so bottom of the barrel in all categories..
All cause of one person!
SELL the TEAM now!!!!
He will never sell.
