TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Carson Beck is expected to continue serving as the team’s third-string quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II.
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur and the coaching staff had a discussion about his current role on Tuesday.
“Nothing new,” LaFleur said on Wednesday.
Beck continues to split backup reps with Minshew at practice. He has not been active on game days, serving as the emergency quarterback.
The rookie continues to work on his craft at practice after missing most of the preseason with rib discomfort he suffered in a Hall of Fame Game loss to the Carolina Panthers.
With Arizona’s current four-game losing streak and offensive inconsistency with Brissett under center, the noise has grown that much louder for a quarterback change.
Through five games, Brissett is posting a 1-4 record with 1,110 yards and nine touchdowns to five interceptions on 66.3% throwing.
As a team, Arizona ranks 23rd offensively (301.2 yards per game) and 23rd in points scored (21.6 points per game).

At some point you have to know what you have with Beck. Putting him in would at least give the fans some sort of hope.
