Cardinals rookie OL Chase Bisontis suffers torn MCL

Arizona Cardinals guard and 2026 second-round pick Chase Bisontis suffered a torn MCL that will require surgery, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Friday.

The rookie offensive lineman went down with the knee injury in the first half of Arizona’s 27-14 preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night. The lineman was in visible pain before being helped off the field by two trainers. He was carted off after getting checked out in the blue medical tent.

Head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters postgame that the injury was “not good” and testing needed to be done.

Rapoport reported that only the MCL will need to be repaired, but the surgery will jeopardize Bisontis’ first NFL season. The surgery will take place next week.

It’s a tough blow for Arizona’s offense as Bisontis was making up ground in the starting right guard competition with Isaiah Adams.

The rookie put together an impressive Hall of Fame game showing and was looking to stack games before going down.

With Bisontis to miss significant time, Adams looks like a lock for the right guard spot.

As for the depth behind him, Hayden Conner and Jon Gaines II figure to be the next men up with Bisontis sidelined.
