TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals are drafting Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis with the No. 34 pick in the second round.

He marks the second offensive player taken by Arizona this draft after Jeremiyah Love went No. 3 overall in the first round.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Bisontis appeared in 36 games for Texas A&M from 2023-25. He played primarily at left guard in college but lined up mainly at right tackle in 2023. He allowed just six sacks — one in each of the past two seasons — in his three years with the Aggies, according to Pro Football Focus. He was flagged 19 times.

“Mean, tough and nasty. That’s what it is for an interior offensive lineman,” Bisontis said Friday. “I felt real comfortable there (moving from right tackle to left guard). I loved it. I’m willing to do anything the team needs. They need me to snap, play tackle, I’m there.

“I’ve been playing left guard for two years, but I could do anything,” he added.

While the Cardinals added to the interior of the line with free-agent signing and left guard Isaac Seumalo, an upgrade on the right side was still needed heading into the draft.

Isaiah Adams marks the frontrunner at right guard, though he had an up-and-down Year 2 despite being a training camp standout and originally earning the starting role.

Jon Gaines II is another player who could be in the mix at right guard, but he’s only made five starts in 30 games played since 2023.

I know I'm going to shock some of you but I agree with this pick. Build the wall!! And why wouldn't you now since you drafted one of the best players in the draft at #3.

Perfect combination of value and need. Thanks for not taking a 3/4/5th round QB in the 2nd round like some "experts" were predicting.

Paris, Bisontis and a vet like Seumalo is a good start to an decent oline for Love to have a big year!

Good Pick. If your gonna draft love and next years 1st on a QB let’s get line in better shape going into next year. So good with pick. I think we need RT much more than Guard, but maybe Cardinals have a plan after the draft with trades or roster cuts.
