“I can’t think of five better people to look up to in terms of just guys that are going to keep it real with each other, hold people to standards, communicate with me, making sure I don’t need to know everything that’s going on in the locker room,” head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday. “I just need to know the stuff that’s pertinent. But just because it’s just those five, doesn’t mean that there aren’t other guys.
“There were quite a few guys that I won’t mention that were right up there in the running for it and those guys are still going to have a voice, too.”
This marks the seventh straight captaincy for Baker.
It’s No. 2 for both Froholdt and Wilson.
As for Brissett and Kreiter, this is their first time donning the “C” patch for the franchise.

Jacoby Brissett is ranked 31st out of 32 QBs in the NFL. He won 1 game last year and his overall record is 39-62. What am I missing?
He didn’t play defense may be the biggest point…. Cards put up dare I say above average points with JB, but the defense gave up around the worst in the league.
I like to think how would teams fair if we switched QB’s…. Probably any other would have had along the same results playing with this team last season, along with worse injuries with all the hits, thus I can’t point the finger at JB.
I think this says that the Cardinals are OK not just with mediocre performance, but mediocre leadership as well. It's a vote for "let's not change things too fast".
