Jeremiyah Love missing practice due to lingering ankle issue

TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is not practicing Wednesday due to his lingering ankle issue, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.

“As much as he wants to battle through, we’re all in agreeance right now as just give him a little bit of rest and see as the week goes on what that will entail for Sunday,” LaFleur said Wednesday.

The head coach added it is not the same preseason ankle issue Love dealt with.

The start to Love’s NFL career hasn’t jumped off the page like many expected.

Through five games, he’s recorded 245 yards and a touchdown on 67 carries. He’s added 11 catches for 36 yards and another score.

Among the biggest concerns early into his Cardinals tenure aside from the ankle issues have been the lack of explosives from the rookie and his limited usage as a pass catcher.

Depending on how Love gets through the week, veteran running back Tyler Allgeier could be in for a larger role against the Los Angeles Rams.
