Cardinals’ Kelvin Beachum lends a hand at Phoenix community giveaway

Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum continues to put in the work on and off the field.

With training camp closing in, the veteran lineman and his family served the Phoenix community earlier this month.

Partnering with World Vision and Church of God in Christ, the community giveaway saw nearly 1,000 families positively impacted by the event, doubling the expected turnout.

Items handed out included clothing, diapers, toys, home goods, groceries, personal care products and more.

“I’ve worked with World Vision for the last decade and in that time have been able to serve the communities I’ve been a part of through school supply giveaways, holiday toy distributions and disaster relief efforts,” Beachum told Arizona Sports. “At the heart of this service has always been my faith so it was uniquely special to partner with COGIC and World Vision to gift our AZ community with toys and supplies. Serving with my family to bring joy to our neighbor families is what it’s all about.”

Not the first time Kelvin Beachum has given back to the Phoenix community

Beachum has a long track record of giving back.

Since first signing with the Cardinals in 2020, he’s remained active in giving back both locally and internationally.

In addition to the latest local event, he’s focused a lot of his time on STEM-related initiatives. That’s included donating computers to a local middle school and passing out school essentials such as backpacks, headphones and audio equipment.

“Everybody can’t go pro in football, but everybody can go pro in STEM — science, technology, engineering, arts and math,” Beachum said during a school giveaway in 2022. “I really feel if you understand those principles … you can be very, very successful in the global economy that’s continuing to thrive right now. You look at the New York Stock Exchange, you look at where money is being made, where wealth is being created around technology, around kind of the innovation and kind of the more white-collar jobs.

“I’m a blue-collar guy and the same time I realize where this world is going. I want the young people to realize, yes, it’s great to play football, it’s great to play basketball, all those things are great. But at the end of the day, your education is the most important thing.”

Beachum is entering his 14th season as a pro and sixth as a member of the Cardinals after appearing in 16 games (12 starts) for the franchise last season.
