SCOTTSDALE — Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray understands the platform he’s on and the blessings he’s been given in life entering his seventh season as a professional athlete.
The signal caller will also be the first to say he could do more in sharing those blessings within the local community.
This offseason, however, that begins to change through The Kyler Murray Foundation’s first annual celebrity softball game aimed at benefitting local programs in underserved areas.
“God blessed me with this this talent and being in this position, I want to give back. And I feel like personally, I haven’t done it enough,” Murray told Arizona Sports’ Cardinals Corner podcast from Salt River Fields on Tuesday.
“I want to be more involved in the community and this is a start to it. And it will be annual, so to be able to bring the community together, bring out some players, athletes and connect them with the fans. It’ll be a real interactive day. I’m looking forward to it. I think it’ll be a great time and a great thing that we do every year.”
And being able to intersect two big pieces of his life — football and baseball — is just an added bonus for the signal caller.
How many people does Kyler Murray want to reach through his foundation?
While The Kyler Murray Foundation’s aims “to empower young people by giving them the tools they need to succeed, both academically and athletically,” the buck doesn’t stop there for the signal caller and his charitable efforts.
“The Kyler Murray Foundation for me is just all about giving back. You know, it doesn’t really matter who for me personally. I just feel like it’s my job, my duty to be a good person in the community and to give to the less fortunate.
“Whether it’s the youth, cancer survivors, veterans … I’m in this to just help whoever needs it.”
When is The Kyler Murray Foundation’s charity softball game?
The game is slated to take place May 17 at Salt River Fields.
You can purchase tickets online and at the gate the day of the event.

Isn't this like year seven of this dude's career? Give me a break. This is a conversation that should have happened in year 1 or 2. This dude has the mental toughness of Jay Cutler.
Wow, the PR articles trying to rebuild his image are starting early this off-season. We usually see these in July, maybe late June. This guy is who he is and that is not a leader of men, not committed to his craft as he does not understand studying playbooks or game film, and simply a self-focused athlete that is now rich.
He is a personal success and a professional failure. I have nothing against him personally but these PR articles are old and he will be the same below average team QB again this year. He is not leading his team or franchise to a division title let alone bigger championships.
I am not a fan of what Kyler has done on the field as a Cardinal, but I am a huge fan of this.
Well done Kyler.
