Former Arizona Cardinals captain and starting MIKE backer Kyzir White has agreed to sign with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, reports NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

White is coming off his best season with the Cardinals with 137 tackles, an interception, 2.5 sacks, three passes defensed and eight QB hits across 17 starts.

His free agency process bled into prep week for Week 1 of the regular season, with the Titans visiting the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

White reportedly had interest from the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions before agreeing with Tennessee.

The linebacker was a significant presence within the Cardinals’ locker room, having been named a captain in each of the two years he was playing for head coach Jonathan Gannon.

The respect hasn’t stopped there, either, with defensive coordinator Nick Rallis naming his son after White this past season.

“Kyzir specifically, I can tell my son ultimately what stands out about him and why he’s a captain is he’s the ultimate teammate, ultimate team-first guy,” Rallis said in November. “The model for accountability. There’s so many stories I could probably list to you, but the guy shows up every day with a smile on his face ready to go to work.”

With White’s free agency status, the Cardinals moved on revamping the inside linebackers room that currently includes returnee and elevated leader Mack Wilson Sr., free agent signing Akeem Davis-Gaither, rookie Cody Simon and Owen Pappoe.

Kyzir White’s NFL resume before joining Cardinals

Before his time in Arizona, White played under Gannon and Rallis, who were the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, respectively, at Philadelphia in 2022.

In his lone season with the Eagles, White recorded 110 tackles, 1.5 sacks, seven passes defensed and three QB hits in 17 games (eight starts).

The veteran linebacker entered the league with the Los Angeles Chargers as a fourth-rounder (No. 119) in the 2018 NFL Draft.

He spent four seasons with L.A. before heading to Philadelphia for that one season.

30 million under the cap. Little Mikey didn't want to pay the help. He put a hard cap on Monti, just like last year (over $20 million). Cards are a cash-poor team, family business. They rely on TV $ to make the nut every year. They stay under the, wait till the end of the season and then use the cap space to sign/extend guys. Guaranteed money has to be put into escrow at time of signing, so Mikey leverages the cap space into cash flow by using the space with ongoing revenue to extend and have some coin on hand to set aside. Same reason they won't sign big-dollar FA's, they don't have the $75 -$ 120 million or whatever cash to put away and lock up more than one Kyler, a Buddha and Trey.

"Affordable number". We will have to wait to see how much Tennessee gave him. The word is that Ossenfort refused to pay White what he wanted.

Totally agree. The Cardinals had been singing his praises since he arrived, and this season they're saying it's time to move on? Something smells, especially considering they brought the fossill, Calais Campbell back, whose productivity the last couple years has been highly questionable. Kyzir was far and away, the best LB, and the 2nd best Defensive player on the field. I was shocked when he wasn't resigned. Even more shocked when no one picked him up. Makes me wonder if he's facing some kind of suspension for drugs or some other bad behavior
