Marvin Harrison Jr. exits Cardinals-Buccaneers with heel injury

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. went down with a heel injury and did not return in his team’s 20-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The wide receiver exited late in Sunday’s action as Arizona’s top passing threat behind six catches on seven targets for 69 yards. He also reeled in his 100th career catch.

It’s a tough look for Harrison, who looked good in his return to action this week after missing the past two games due to recovering from appendicitis.

Before that two-game span, Harrison had not missed a game in his Cardinals career.

With Harrison sidelined, the Cardinals turned to Michael Wilson and Trey McBride to help pick up the slack.

Wilson exploded as Arizona’s WR1 in place of Harrison, recording 303 yards on 25 catches across the two games prior to Sunday’s tilt, but ended with three receptions (seven targets) for 36 yards.

McBride, who set a new NFL record for the most catches by a tight end across his first four seasons and found the end zone in the fourth quarter, paced the team in catches (eight) and yards (82).
