The Arizona Cardinals ruled wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. out for their season finale on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters on Wednesday.
Gannon also announced defensive lineman Walter Nolen III (knee) and cornerback Garrett Williams (Achilles) underwent surgery and are on the road to recovery. Gannon did not confirm whether Nolen tore his ACL “out of respect for the player.”
Both defenders went down in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons and were placed on injured reserve.
Gannon also announced that safety Kitan Crawford (ankle) will not play on Sunday.
Marvin Harrison Jr. done for 2025 season
Harrison only played 19 snaps in last Sunday’s game at the Cincinnati Bengals due to a heel injury, as the second half of his season has been marred by appendicitis and the foot ailment.
Harrison ended his second NFL season with only 12 games played.
The 2024 No. 4 overall pick produced 41 catches on 73 targets, 608 receiving yards and four touchdown grabs. Harrison improved his catch percentage from 53.4% last year to 56.2% this season.
“I thought he did some good things,” Gannon said. “We moved him around the formation, he scored points for us, got open, caught it. I don’t think he’s hit his ceiling.”
He played all 17 games as a rookie in 2024, when he gained 885 yards with eight touchdowns.
The Cardinals visit the Rams at SoFi Stadium Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 2:25 p.m. MST.

I dont know about Marv being a 'stud,' I have not seen that-he struggles with separation, is only so/so in the 50/50 ball department, and catches with his body too much, but I have seen the potential for him to be a very good #2 like a Tee Higgins. He does not display, at least not yet, that 'give me the dang ball' attitude like all great #1s seem to have.
The emergence of Wilson as our #1 should take a lot of pressure off Marv for next season. Lets see how he does with less attention from the D, a new OC and a new QB.
Glad they shut Harrison Jr down for the last game, last thing we need is to lose him in a meaningless game.
Petzing has criminally misused Harrison Jr since he was drafted, lining him up 85% of the time in the same spot in 2024, 85% of the time same spot this last season, making it FAR easier for defenses to defend him and Petzing has shown zero creativity, struggles immensely to use all of his weapons making defenses cover every blade of grass, he struggles immensely to give McBride, Wilson n Harrison Jr all involved. Petzing cannot be given his walking passers quick enough, either bring in a veteran OC like Shane Steichen or grab an up n coming offensive mind from Shanahan, McVay or McConnels staff to come run our offense, with the weapons they have AZ isn’t far away from having an Elite to top 5-10 offense once again.
Even in this horrible Petzing offense Harrison Jr has been a stud since he got here. In 15 games Harrison Jr put up 885YDs/8TDs and woulda had over 1K+YDs if not for missing two games. This year he took a sizable big step forward, he looked even better with Harrison Jr on pace for well over 1KYDs at the time n 6-8TDs and then he gets hurt.
Harrison Jr is not only an elite route runner n extremely technical WRs he was one of the best route runners n more technical WRs in the NFL on tape.
In a better offense next year w/ hopefully better QB play be it Brissett, a vet like a Mac Jones or a rookie QB either way I have no doubt he has a huge year as long as he stays healthy. Especially if AZ brings in an OC who knows how to use his weapons, As this offense is far to gifted to be as stagnant as it was before the lost so many guys earlier this year .
Oh, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! What will they DO without his incredible talent??
