Memphis running back Darrell Henderson visited with the Arizona Cardinals and a handful of other teams expected to pick late in the first round or early in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Arizona holds the first pick in the second round at 33rd overall and will lead off the third round at 65th.

Henderson also reportedly visited with the Oakland Raiders (24th, 27th and 35th overall picks), Philadelphia Eagles (25th and 57th) and Los Angeles Rams (31st).

In his junior season at Memphis, Henderson was the nation’s second leading rusher, finishing with 1,909 yards on 8.9 yards per carry. He was tied for first in the NCAA with 22 rushing touchdowns and added 19 receptions for 295 more yards in 2018.

While at Memphis, Henderson played in a spread offense led by head coach Mike Norvell, the former Arizona State offensive coordinator (2012-2015), who split out his running back as a receiver on 23% of snaps.

According to Pro Football Focus, Henderson averaged 6.16 yards after contact, helping him record 19 plays for 30 or more yards from scrimmage last season.

The 5-foot-8, 208-pound back ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Draft Combine.

The Cardinals might consider drafting Henderson with their second- or third-round selections if they truly view him as a tier above other players at different positions. He doesn’t exactly fill a need with bell-cow David Johnson and second-year backup Chase Edmonds on the roster.
