GLENDALE, Ariz. — While several storylines will emerge from Arizona Cardinals training camp, the one everyone will be watching is the battle for spots on the 53-man roster.
Key dates to watch are Sept. 2, when clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the active/inactive list prior to 1 p.m. There’s also the day after on Sept. 3, when the claiming period for players placed on waivers at the final roster reduction expires at 9 a.m. and one hour later, teams may form their practice squad of ten players.
Here’s the second version of my 53-man roster projection. I’ll update the roster as moves are made throughout camp, including after every preseason game.

Keeping 3 qbs seems like a wasted spot. JD Gabbert shows he can be similar to Stanton then cut drew and save the money and the roster spot.
I think Carson Palmer comes back and plays out his contract, especially if he plays at a very high level this next season and Arizona makes the playoffs, which I'd bet he will as long as he is protected.
With so many draft picks in next years draft I think Arizona will package a few together and move up to mid round 1 drafting a QB in next years draft, a draft class that is supposed to be a loaded QB class. With AZ drafting QB I think Palmer will come back to help the mentor young QB, handing over the reins after the 2018 season.
How am I supposed to know and why would I care?
