Cardinals’ Trey McBride ties Travis Kelce for another NFL record in loss to Rams
Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride continued his historic pace in Sunday's loss to the Rams, tying yet another top mark in the NFL record book.

GLENDALE — Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride continues to get it done.
With his fifth catch late in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams, McBride is now tied with Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce for the most consecutive games of at least five receptions with 15.
Another such showing next week against a stout Houston Texans defense would put McBride in sole possession of the top spot.
The Cardinals tight end had already made history this season.
With his first catch in last week’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, McBride surpassed Jimmy Graham (301) for the most receptions by a tight end in their first four seasons in NFL history.
By season’s end, there’s going to be a pretty good gap between first and second, especially with Arizona’s pass heavy approach since quarterback Jacoby Brissett took over.
It’s been a season to remember for Arizona’s top offensive weapon. Before Sunday’s tilt, McBride paced the league in receptions (88) to go along with 879 yards and a career high eight touchdowns.

McBride could check off another historic box, too.
And with seven more receptions this season, McBride would join Kelce as the only tight ends in NFL history with multiple seasons of at least 100 receptions.
Michael Wilson back in the WR1 spotlight
Aside from McBride, wide receiver Michael Wilson marked the other main contributor for the Cardinals offense on Sunday.
Back in the WR1 role with Marvin Harrison Jr. sidelined, Wilson secured the first touchdown of the game on Arizona’s opening drive. He finished with 11 catches on 16 targets for 142 yards and two scores.

There is no doubt that Trey McBride is an elite tight end in the NFL, yet there's one stat where he'll never catch Travis Kelce....the number of Super Bowl rings on his fingers.
As long as he is an Arizona Cardinal, there is no reason to believe that he'll ever be an important part of a championship team....or even a division contender, for that matter. Very sad.
Do individual records matter in a team sport. Especially one that's this bad week in and week out?
