Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride owns a couple more NFL records thanks to his latest showing in Sunday’s 40-20 loss to the Houston Texans.
Extending his streak of games with at least five receptions to 16 behind a two-yard touchdown snag in the second quarter, McBride surpassed Kansas City’s Travis Kelce (15) for the longest such streak by a tight end in NFL history.
Six for Trey!

McBride also set a new NFL record as the first tight end with back-to-back 100-catch seasons. He also joins Kelce as the only TEs in history with at least 100 catches in multiple seasons.
These aren’t the first NFL records set by McBride in 2025, either, surpassing Jimmy Graham (301) for the most catches by a tight end in their first four seasons.
Additionally, McBride passed Hall of Famer Jackie Smith for the most touchdowns in a single season by a tight end with 10.
The two scores on Sunday also made McBride the first Cardinal since Larry Fitzgerald in 2013 (10) to have at least 10 TDs in a single season.
He also added 134 yards on 12 catches in the defeat.
McBride continues to be one of the main bright spots in an otherwise dark Cardinals season. Putting up All-Pro numbers, McBride paces the NFL in catches (105) and leads all tight ends in touchdowns (10) and yards (1,071).

Imagine if he played on a real NFL team......
Dude is the new Larry Fitzgerald of this franchise as the undisputed leader . McBride is such a special player, he’s the elite of the elite super rare talent. I still think MHJ will be an Elite WR similar skills/talent to CeeDee Lamb, he was having a big season b4 his injury and will only continue getting better but McBride is just him, mans a rare talent. We also have an excellent #2 in Wilson but Hopefully next year we can go on a playoff run with much better injury luck n after a strong offseason of building in the draft n FA, esp since we won’t be paying KM $50M dollars for above avg QB play. We can get that production or more from Brissett with a strong run game/OL and defense.
Exactly definition of domination. Arizona will bounce back nicely next year and contend for the playoffs once everyone’s healthy far to much talent not to once .
Offense is just banged up but has a grip of talent Petzing is just in over his head and uncreative. He will definitely be fire whether JG is kept or not and rightfully so, he has an offense LOADED with Elite caliber weapons/athletes n yet he scheme the pass game for 3 weapons n NEVER moves guys around, NEVER moves a weapon like MHJ from X always on the same side of the field lining 85% last yr 80% This year that is MALPRACTICE for an OC, criminal showing Petzing isn’t qualified n isn’t the guy. If Miami HC Mike McDaniel is fired Bidwill needs to do whatever it takes to bring him to PHX or hire an up/comer from Shannahan/ McConnel or McVays offensive staffs who run the Shannahan West Coast Offense.
Any of those 3 would have this offense dominating w/ the weapons we have. They’d need to make a few moves à la draft a RT n sign a very good top RB to pair with a healthy very gifted Trey Benson w/4.37 speed just needs to stay healthy n being now 30 coming off his ankle I could see James Connor back if he will sign on the cheap 1.5M/2.0M yr as he’s still a beast with tread left on tires he was 3rd highest PFF Graded (Elite 91.4) in 2024 n banged up then injury early on this year. They will sign a back no doubt and there’s a grip hitting in FA like RB Breece Hall whom I’d sign n love, or Javonte Williams, Nick Chubb, Rico Dowdle on n on.
With an Elite top 5-7 OL n run game again and I do think they will have both next yr w/ a few improvements n say Mike McDaniel at OC this offense will take off w/ a creative big brain OC who will move Marv all around from slot to X to Z. MHJ was playing near elite ball before getting hurt, Petzing is dumb misusing him to but Harrison can easily seperate with his route running n was on pace for 1K+ YDS/7-10TDs this season. He has areas to improve but he’s special n will be elite by next year esp with a smart OC. I don’t know if AZ is keeping him out to tank but if back I think he takes off.
Michael Wilson has become an Elite WR2 playing at a Pro Bowl level showing elite route running, #1 in contested catch’s n NFL W/23 now, #1 WR since week 11 in receptions and yards n he gets better weekly. The right OC n these guys would be unstoppable especially w/ the NFLs BEST TE in Elite top Receiving TE on pace for over 100+/1200+ n 12TDs+ and hopefully we draft a top WR on day 2 next year with elite 4.35/4.40 speed who can stretch field playing outta the slot but who can also win from outside.
And our OL isn’t far from top 5-10 caliber again.
Arizona has thee best LT in NFL easy top 3 n top Pro Bowl vote getting this yr having an All Pro season with long 36in arms elite athleticism in 6”6-325LB LT Paris Johnson Jr. People think we draft a QB this year I don’t but if so then they take top RT top of rd2 but in top 5 I think AZ drafts elite mauling run blocker n elite massive athlete also 36in long arms elite power/athleticism in
6”6-330 RT Francois Mauigoa though Spencer Fano could happen to. And at AZ ranking top 3 last year still easily a top 5-7 center mauler 6”5-310 C Hjalte Froholdt.
And at OG were much better than folks realize and set. Evan Brown won’t be back . Elite athlete top 5 most athletic OG EVER drafted 9.95 RAS in 6”4-310lb LG Jon Gaines II is developing into an excellent great LG. In 185 Snaps Gaines has a 72.9 overall grade is just getting better more he plays with just 1 sack/1 pressure allowed.
Arizona drafted the SECs Elite pass blocker best in SEC allowed 0 sacks in 600+ snaps in 6”5-325lb beast of an OG Hayden Connor and he’s looked very good yr1 now healthy and will DEF only get better going forward playing very well in the pre season n 72.8 pass pro grade/60 run blocking in regular. Massive powerful athletic mauler who shines in ZBS esp inside zone 6”5-330lb Isaiah Adams is improving slowly but surely better in recent weeks 61.9 pass blk/55.8 run blk grade only 2.0 sacks/19 pressures/0 hits by next year I think he will be very good. And lastly Top 10-12 pass blocker every year almost n above avg mauling run blocker 6”3-330lb Will Hernandez has struggled but it’s due to coming back from his knee injury. Next season he will be himself again, always takes 2yrs n 90% of players bounce back that 2nd yr back some bounce back right away obviously Will did not. If he signs cheap again id bring him back and with elite blue chip players across LT/C/RG with above avg OGs I think their OL and run game bounce back as premiere top 5-8 caliber units again.
Lastly Jacoby Brissett with an elite run game OL, run game and excellent top 10-12 defense to lean on is EASILY more than good enough to win with. AZ could draft Mendoza or Bamas Ty Simpson top 5 or maybe OUs John Mateer rs2-3 who knows? But I think they Could sign a guy like excellent veteran Mac Jones who thrived in the offense I want to bring to AZ who won’t cost to much maybe $15-$20M per year and I’d sign him to bring in and compete to start with Jacoby.
That offense there easily would be a top 5-10 offense next season and AZ isn’t far off at all from fielding an offense that good with talent already on our roster
