The Arizona Cardinals hosted Arizona Wildcats cornerback Treydan Stukes for a pre-NFL Draft visit, the prospect told SI.com’s Justin Melo.
Stukes added he’s visited the Tennessee Titans and was planning to meet with more NFL teams as the draft closes in.
While he played primarily cornerback at Arizona, he is also being viewed as a safety at the next level thanks to his versatility.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back is coming off his sixth season with the Wildcats where he recorded 52 tackles, one sack, a career-high four interceptions and six passes defensed in 10 games played.
Stukes then turned it on at the NFL Draft Combine, highlighted by a 4.33-second 40-yard dash and 1.50-second 10-yard split. Those marks were good enough for third and second, respectively, among safety prospects.
While the Cardinals have plenty of depth at cornerback, they could find a need for Stukes at safety.
Despite the Cardinals watching seven-year starter Jalen Thompson depart for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason, Arizona did replenish the room with the free-agent signing of Andrew Wingard.
Budda Baker is locked in as a unquestioned starter. Beyond him, though, it’s up for debate with Thompson no longer in the picture.
The most likely candidates to take over Thompson’s role are Dadrion “Rabbit” Taylor-Demerson and Wingard. Kitan “Bug” Crawford is another name to watch, though he played sparingly on defensive behind 14% of available snaps.
Adding Stukes wouldn’t hurt from a competition or depth standpoint.
He is, however, being viewed as a second-round pick as the draft approaches, with NFL.com’s Chad Reuter linking the safety to the Chicago Bears’ No. 57 overall pick.
Stukes marks one of the only known draft prospects to visit the Cardinals, joining Florida defensive lineman Caleb Banks.

Our secondary is pretty stacked, this seems more like a luxury pick . They shouldn’t take a Safety before day 3, in round 3 they should look to beef up the interior DL with more young talent or a deep threat WR who’s a true burner . I hope in rd4-5 we draft 6”0-300lb uber explosive pass rushing 3T Landon Robinson as that kid is going to be a beast of a pass rusher inside. Adding another pass rushing 3T as a rotational piece as a rookie with all the other talent both inside and out they will have a very nasty pass rush next season esp if we draft an OLB like David Bailey to lineup across from Josh Sweat with OLB BJ Ojulari ready to take off this season n Burch going into yr2. If AZ drafts Robinson even their backup depth DTs will be dangerous pass rushers with the rotation they have between Walter Nolen, Andrew Billings, Roy Lopez , Jonah Williams, Dante Stills, Darius Robinson, LJ Collier, a finally healthy J. Jones then add one more legit pass rush 3T talent like Robinson their interior DL will be massively improved over last season with all the injuries we suffered rolling out gods knows who the second half of the season.
