Arizona Coyotes sign forward Blake Speers to 1-year deal

The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Blake Speers, who came over in the Taylor Hall trade from the New Jersey Devils, to a one-year, two-way contract.

The Arizona Coyotes announced on Sunday they have signed forward Blake Speers to a one-year, two-way contract.

Speers came over in the trade with forward Taylor Hall from the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 16.

He recorded four goals, five assists and nine points during his 32 games club’s AHL-affiliate Tucson Roadrunners.

The 23-year-old has 19 goals, 18 assists and 37 points over his 147 AHL games after being drafted in the third round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Devils.

In the trade for Speers and Hall, Arizona sent their 2020 first-round conditional draft choice, their 2021 third round conditional draft choice and forwards Nick Merkley and Nate Schnarr and defenseman Kevin Bahl to New Jersey.

The terms of the contract were not disclosed per club policy.
