The Arizona Coyotes are changing ECHL affiliates for the 2018-19 season.
After a one-year stint with the Fort Wayne Komets, the Coyotes have agreed to terms with the Norfolk Admirals on a one-year deal to be the team’s ECHL affiliate.
“We are excited to partner with the Norfolk Admirals as our new ECHL affiliate,” Coyotes assistant general manager Steve Sullivan said in a released statement. “The Admirals are a first-class organization with owner Ardon Wiener and head coach Robbie Ftorek. Having had Robbie as my first professional coach, I fully trust his ability to develop our prospects in Norfolk. We look forward to a strong partnership.”
This will be the team’s fourth season in Norfolk, as it seeks to improve upon three consecutive losing seasons.
The Admirals will serve as direct affiliate to both the Coyotes and the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL.
