The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Alex Galchenyuk under the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols, the team announced Friday.

The news follows Thursday’s in which forwards Lawson Crouse and Jay Beagle were also placed on the list.

Additionally, PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan reported Thursday that some of Arizona’s staff were also included.

In 13 appearances for Arizona this year, Galchenyuk has two assists.

While Beagle has been out of the lineup since Dec. 11 due to injury, losing Crouse is a tough pill to swallow for the Coyotes.

In 28 games played, Crouse has registered 11 points (six goals, five assists). As of Thursday morning, he is one of just five Coyotes to have recorded at least 10 points.

Crouse had just one shot on goal in Wednesday night’s 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers.

The Coyotes are one of the latest NHL teams to lose players to COVID-19 in the past week, with the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators and Edmonton Oilers also dealing with virus concerns.

Outside of the NHL, professional sports leagues like the NFL and NBA are also dealing with an influx of positive cases.

The Coyotes are back on the ice Friday night at 8 p.m. against the Anaheim Ducks. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
