Four men accused of attacking former Phoenix Coyotes winger Paul Bissonnette at a Scottsdale restaurant last year were formally charged in the case, authorities announced Friday.

A Maricopa County grand jury indicted Sean Michael Daley, Danny Bradley, John Gerrard Carroll and Henry Peter Mesker on Jan. 17.

They each were charged with the class 6 felony of aggravated assault and the class 1 misdemeanor of disorderly conduct.

The indictment for the assault count says the defendants “intentionally, knowingly or recklessly did cause physical injury to Paul Albert Bissonnette, while his capacity to resist was substantially impaired.”

The disorderly conduct charge was for disturbing the peace “by engaging in fighting” and “violent or seriously disruptive behavior.”

The trial was tentatively set for this summer, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Two other men were initially arrested after the Nov. 24, 2024, incident but were not included in the indictment.

What did Paul Bissonnette say about attack?

Bissonnette, who played for the Coyotes from 2009-14 before becoming an NHL broadcast analyst, was dining at Houston’s at McDonald Drive and Scottsdale Road before the alleged assault.

The former hockey player intervened when some of the defendants allegedly started acting aggressively toward the manager.

“I walk over, I grab the guy’s arm and I say, ‘Listen, buddy, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff here, we’re going to go outside and we’re going to have some problems,’” Bissonnette said while discussing the incident on an episode of his Spittin’ Chiclets podcast. “The minute that left my mouth, the guy besides him starts throwing punches. And next thing you know, there’s four guys swinging at me.”

The fight, which sent Bissonnette to the hospital, spilled out into the parking lot before it ended.

These d-bags also assaulted a teenaged employee earlier that day at a golf course.
They're fat, drunk, piles of shlt that pick on individuals rather than equal sized groups that will fight back.
They deserve every negative recourse that comes their way.

That's cool and I will stand by my posts. Four on one is in no way fair (regardless of the stature of the four) unless the one being attacked has John Wick-like talents, and Bissonnette does not. Those four drunks deserve whatever is coming to them via the justice system.

I guess we know which commenter here likes to get drunk and assault people from the safety of a group of friends.
