Cardinals re-sign LB Philip Wheeler, release Scooby Wright

The Arizona Cardinals re-signed linebacker Philip Wheeler and released Scooby Wright on Monday.
Arizona released Wheeler, 32, on Friday and signed Wright to the 53-man roster. As a veteran, Wheeler’s contract of $695,000 would have been guaranteed for the entire year had the team not waived him.

Wright, a seventh-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns, joined the Cardinals in December 2016 and was cut by Arizona before the 53-man roster was announced this year. The team re-signed him to its practice squad before elevating him last week for the Week 1 game at Detroit.
Wheeler originally joined the Cardinals on July 27 and impressed in the preseason.
The nine-year NFL veteran has 513 tackles, 133 games and 66 starts for the Colts, Raiders, Dolphins and Falcons on his resume. Last season for Atlanta, he recorded 28 tackles in 16 appearances.
Wheeler adds depth at inside linebacker, where the team is still missing $LB Deone Bucannon, who while recovering from ankle surgery sprained his ankle before the opener.
Adding to his value, Wheeler also played outside linebacker in the preseason finale.

Sorry, that was fantasy-me speaking *LOL*.
I am such a big believer in EVERY athlete, without exception, getting their college degree, going to every class, actually studying, learning how to make friends, get along or at least exist with every kind of person there is in the world, and earning their degree. That's also fantasy-me speaking *LOL*
You're correct in assuming that there are tons of things I don't know about. But I don't think you can make all those assumptions about me, without knowing anything about me. Course that's just my opinion, IDK, you could be psychic :) Just kidding.
Most people I know consider me really knowledgeable about sports, but especially football, considering my background. But now I'm also old, so I find that unless I can find time to watch a whole lot of film, it is nearly impossible to have anywhere near the certainty about future outcomes I might have expressed 15 years ago for example, when my memory and ability to absorb information was still really good better.. Instead, I just try to be a fan, watch the games, have fun.
At this stage of my life, I've learned that I can be really knowledgeable about only 1 team at a time. These last 2 seasons ASU is the only team I'm actively following and that's just partly because I'm an fan/ alum, and mostly because I played and coached the position in college and had some success in developing people to play the position and learning how to evaluate their play.
Now that doesn't mean I'm not going to speculate about how the Cards may do, because I will. I just won't be taking out a 2nd mortgage on my prediction like you seem to be ready to do. Part of the reason I responded, is because I can remember days when I sounded like you, when I had a young brain. In my last post, I was asking for clarification from you, not really disputing what you said. I was just struck by the tone of what you wrote, how confident I perceived you were were in how the season would play out for the Cardinals. That used to be a standard joke among people I coached with to tease them when they made bold predictions. Hope that makes sense.
