Four-star Jordan Clark, son of former Steelers CB, commits to ASU

Oct 16, 2018, 12:44 PM

Arizona State landed its 15th commitment in the 2019 football recruiting class Tuesday in cornerback Jordan Clark.

Clark, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the nation’s No. 349 player and the No. 16 player in Louisiana, according to 247sports.com. He is now the second four-star pledge in ASU’s class of 2019, along with pro-style quarterback Joel Yellen.

His father, Ryan, is a former NFL cornerback with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins. He currently works at ESPN as an NFL analyst, and before Herm Edwards took the head coaching job at Arizona State, they were work colleagues.

In his Twitter commitment, Clark thanked his father and the rest of his family for being his primary support system.

“I would like to thank my family for being my rock at all times and telling me what I need to hear and not what I want to hear,” Clark said.

Before committing, Clark visited ASU three times, one of which was an official visit. Clark is the Sun Devils’ only cornerback commit in the class of 2019, and he also had offers from Cal, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Houston, Louisville and others.

The Sun Devils now have the 49th-ranked class in the nation and No. 7 class in the Pac-12 following Clark’s commitment, according to 247sports.com.
