Arizona State Sun Devils freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels has already earned multiple honors since he and his teammates upset then-No. 6 Oregon on Saturday in Tempe.

Daniels was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week by the Pac-12 Conference on Monday.

He was also named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday.

Daniels was 22-for-32 (68.8%) on passing for 408 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions on Saturday. He found Frank Darby for a 57-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and Brandon Aiyuk for an 81-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that helped the Sun Devils seal the victory over the Ducks. Daniels also hit Kyle Williams for a 46-yard pass.

Perhaps his biggest play of the game was that 81-yard pass to Aiyuk, which came on third and 16 to put ASU up 31-21 with 3:54 remaining.

In the win, Daniels had a better completion percentage, more total completions, more passing yards, more touchdowns and fewer interceptions than Oregon’s Justin Herbert, a projected first-round draft choice.

Additionally, early in the game, Daniels passed Rudy Carpenter to set the school record for the most passing yards in a season by a freshman quarterback. He did so despite missing the game against USC and there still being a game left to play on the schedule.

ASU’s next and final game of the regular season is on Saturday against Arizona. Catch that game at 8 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Station.
