Tickets for the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes facing the No. 3 Clemson Tigers in the 2019 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl have sold out, the event’s website tweeted Tuesday.
The College Football Playoff semifinal will take place Saturday, Dec. 28, at State Farm Stadium and features two 13-0 teams.
The Buckeyes will make their eighth appearance in the Fiesta Bowl, while the Tigers will make their second. It’s also a rematch of the 2016 game in Glendale, which saw Clemson shut out Ohio State, 31-0, en route to a 2017 CFP Championship Game victory over Alabama.
Heading into conference championship week in college football, Ohio State held the No. 1 status in the CFP rankings but dropped a spot to LSU despite avoiding an upset to Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game. LSU leapfrogged the Buckeyes by defeating then-No. 4 Georgia, 37-10.
Clemson held steady at third in the rankings by drubbing Virginia 62-17 for the ACC title.
In the other College Football Playoff semifinal, LSU will face No. 4 Oklahoma in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, which is in Atlanta and also on Dec. 28.
The Peach Bowl kicks off at 2 p.m., while the Fiesta Bowl will kick off at 6 p.m..
The winners of the two semifinals will meet on Jan. 13 for the championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
