The Arizona Coyotes have recalled goaltender Adin Hill from their AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, the team announced on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, starting goaltender Darcy Kuemper was listed as week to week after suffering a lower body injury in Thursday night’s 8-5 home loss to the Minnesota Wild.
Kuemper came into Thursday night with a .935 save percentage, the best in the NHL among goaltenders with a minimum of 15 starts.
Backup Antti Raanta will fill in for Kuemper while he misses time, allowing for Hill to slide in as the Coyotes’ No. 2 in the meantime.
Hill, 23, has a .907 save percentage and a 2.77 goals against average in 12 games for the Roadrunners on the 2019-20 campaign.
In 11 starts over 13 appearances last year with the Coyotes, the 23-year-old posted a .901 save percentage and a 2.76 goals against average.
Hill has not played for Arizona this season.
