Cardinals offensive linemen receive motorized scooters as gifts

Dec 26, 2019, 2:20 PM | Updated: 7:41 pm

The entire Arizona Cardinals offensive line just got more mobile.

That’s because the group received a bunch of Phat Scooters, evidently as Christmas gifts, which are motorized electric scooters with a cushioned seat.

A tweet from the Cardinals’ team account implied that the scooters came courtesy of quarterback Kyler Murray, who benefits from his line’s protection each week.

Here’s a video:

The scooters included decals of the jersey numbers of the players who play on the line.

Players in the video could be heard expressing their appreciation for Murray, who also was enjoying one of the scooters himself.

According to Pro Football Focus, Arizona’s pass-blocking as a team ranks ninth in the NFL heading into the final week with a 76.8 overall grade. Its run-blocking ranked only 22nd in the NFL at 57.1.

The Cardinals’ starting offensive line, heading into Week 17, was listed on the depth chart as D.J. Humphries, Justin Pugh, A.Q. Shipley, J.R. Sweezy and Justin Murray. Offensive linemen Marcus Gilbert, Jordan Mills and William Sweet are on IR.

“To be able to keep pretty much the same group intact, [offensive line] coach [Sean] Kugler did a tremendous job building that room, and they fight for each other,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said recently. “They play hard together, it’s all about the group and that’s been fun to watch.”
