The Arizona Cardinals will honor Hall of Fame safety Larry Wilson with a jersey patch on Sunday.

Wilson, who passed away at the age of 82 on Sept. 17, played 15 seasons for the then-St. Louis Cardinals.

He was drafted in the seventh round in the 1960 NFL Draft, recording 52 interceptions in 169 games, while spending his entire 13-year career with the club.

He also served as the team’s VP and GM from 1988 to 2002, overseeing the team’s move to the Valley, among other noteworthy events.

Wilson was named a first-team All-Pro five times, reaching eight Pro Bowls and was announced as part of the NFL’s all-time team last year in honor of the league’s 100th season.

The Cardinals host the Detroit Lions at 1:25 p.m. today, looking to move to 3-0 for the first time since 2015.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the team’s number-eight patches are able to power them to victory.
