The Arizona Coyotes continued to add to their new front office on Friday, naming Ryan Jankowski as the team’s associate director of amateur scouting.
Jankowksi joins the Coyotes after spending the last two years as the Buffalo Sabres’ director of amateur scouting. Jankowksi oversaw all amateur scouting and ran the team’s drafts.
“We are excited to have Ryan join Darryl Plandowski to help lead our amateur scouting department,” new Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong said in a press release. “Ryan brings a wealth of hockey experience and knowledge to our organization and he will be a tremendous asset for us.”
Before his time with the Sabres, Jankowski spent four seasons in several roles with Hockey Canada, including head scout and director of player personnel. In that role, Jankowski oversaw all player evaluation and selection for Canada’s national team and its under-18 and under-17 programs.
Jankowksi has 10 years of additional experience in NHL front offices, working as an amateur scour with the Montreal Canadiens from 2010-13 and as a member of the New York Islanders from 2003-10. Four of those seasons with the Islanders were spent as an assistant general manager.
