What a tremendous few closing moments it was on Monday Night Football between the Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans Saints.
With a game-winning drive potentially available for Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert to make tied 20-20 with under six minutes left, Herbert would find wideout Mike Williams for a 65-yard touchdown off of a blown coverage.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees promptly responded with a touchdown drive of his own in less than three minutes, giving the Chargers the ball back with the game tied again and 47 seconds left.
On 3rd-and-1 on his own 39-yard line and 15 seconds left, Herbert had a timeout in his back pocket and the right throw could put his team in position to win it on a field goal.
Well, it was more like the right catch.
Herbert threw to the left side, putting the ball in a spot for his receiver to make a play, and Williams did.
OH MY MIKE WILLIAMS.

The unbelievable grab for 29 yards had the ball at the Saints 32-yard line with eight seconds left.
Twitter lost it.
What a throw.

It would come down to Chargers kicker Michael Badgley, and if you know the Chargers’ history of blowing games late, particularly with kicking gaffes, there were reasons to be doubtful.
But in true Chargers fashion, a miss wasn’t enough, and Badgley had to get the doink off the upright to bring the game to overtime.

Of course.
What did Chargers fans do to deserve this. Any of it.

In overtime, the Saints drove down the field to get a field goal to force the Chargers to score. Once again, Los Angeles had to make it agonizing for its fans, as Williams’ catch on a 4th-and-7 saw him land one yard short of the first down marker to seal another brutal loss.
Welcome to the typical heart-breaking #Chargers loss, Justin Herbert.
