On Sunday, Jones left the Cardinals’ 30-10 win against the New York Jets in the second quarter and did not return to the field.
The Cardinals will be without its star linebacker for the rest of the season. A rotation consisting of outside linebackers Haason Reddick, Kylie Fitts and Dennis Gardeck are expected to fill his role.
Jones set high public expectations for himself entering this season following a year in which he had 19 sacks and was named a First-Team All-Pro for the second time in three seasons, but over the five games he played in 2020, he recorded only one sack.
In Jones’ four years playing for Arizona prior to this season, he had 60 sacks, which was eight more than any other player, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.
He is under contract through 2021, when he will have a cap hit just over $20 million.
