“We are very pleased to sign Christian to a multi-year contract,” Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong said in a press release. “Christian is a hard-working, power forward who is strong along the boards. He will add size and toughness to our forward group.”
The Coyotes tendered qualifying offers to Fischer — plus defensemen Jordan Gross and Vili Saarijarvi — on Oct. 9, making the trio restricted free agents as NHL free agency opened.
In his fourth season with the Coyotes, Fischer played 56 games. He recorded six goals and three assists for nine points and notched one game-winning goal. Fischer also posted 16 PIM. In nine playoff games in 2020, the forward tallied one assist for one point.
The 6-foot-2, 214-pound forward was selected in the second round (No. 32 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Fischer’s signing comes after the team added forward Johan Larsson to a two-year deal last week.
