Arizona State junior safety Aashari Crosswell announced Thursday he is entering the 2021 NFL Draft.

The safety was in his third season with the Sun Devils and was suspended indefinitely Monday along with senior cornerback Jack Jones.

The suspensions are reportedly not due to any legal matters, but are for team-conduct reasons, per The Athletic’s Doug Haller.

While he wasn’t a factor defensively in the team’s season opener against USC, Crosswell did see some time with the special teams unit. In his place was defensive back DeAndre Pierce, who recorded nine tackles and recovered a fumble in the team’s 28-27 loss to the Trojans.

Crosswell burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2018. The safety finished the season with 43 tackles, four interceptions and nine passes defensed, both team highs.

In 2019, Crosswell increased his tackles (53) and pass deflections (10), but registered two interceptions. He also forced three fumbles, which was tied for first in the Pac-12 last season.

But after starting the first two seasons for head coach Herm Edwards and Co., the junior did not get the nod in Week 1.
