The future appears bright for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

At least that’s the forecast for five D-backs prospects.

Heading into the new season, Baseball America compiled the top 100 prospects from around the league’s farm systems. Of the 100, catcher Daulton Varsho, shortstop/second baseman Geraldo Perdomo and outfielders Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas and Kristian Robinson represent Arizona in the ranking.

Leading all D-backs prospects is Carroll, who comes in at No. 42.

Carroll saw 11 games with the Short-A Hillsboro Hops in 2019 after being selected 16th overall in the 2019 MLB Draft. In 43 at-bats, Carroll posted 14 hits, six RBIs and 13 runs scored. He finished the season with a .326 batting average and .408 OBP.

Varsho is a name some may be familiar with as he is the only D-backs prospect listed that played at the big league level in 2020. He slides in at 67th.

The catcher played 37 of the team’s 60 games, batting .188 and adding three home runs in the process. Varsho served as an outfielder and DH along with playing catcher.

With the Double-A Jackson Generals in 2019, Varsho hit 18 dingers and stole 21 bases in 108 games.

Perdomo has spent time at six different levels of the D-backs’ farm system since 2017. He lands at No. 75 this season.

The speedster has 66 career stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .411 to go along with a .278 batting average.

Robinson joins the fray at 93rd.

In 25 games with the Full-A Kane County Cougars, Robinson recorded 20 hits, 16 RBIs and five homers in 92 at-bats. He slashed .217/.294/.435.

Last but not least is Thomas, who comes in one slot down from Robinson at No. 94.

Playing 23 games with the Single-A Visalia Rawhides in 2019, Thomas averaged .255 to go along with 24 hits, seven RBIs and two home runs. He also scored 13 runs and posted an .829 OPS.
