The Arizona Diamondbacks game against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday has been postponed, the Braves announced about an hour before first pitch was scheduled.

There was a severe thunderstorm watch in some Georgia counties on Saturday as hail was falling at Truist Park in Atlanta. The weather forced the game to be rescheduled to Sunday.

Arizona and Atlanta will play a double-header, with the first game scheduled for 10:20 a.m. Pacific Time and the original Sunday game set to be played 40 minutes after the completion of the first game.

Both will be seven-inning games, according to the Diamondbacks.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, Atlanta-based meteorologist Jason Disharoon tweeted a video of rain and “pea-sized hail” in the area.

People with tickets to the Saturday game will receive credit to their online Braves account. Those who have tickets for the original Sunday game will be allowed to attend both double-header games and stay in the same seat.

This postponement will pause the D-backs’ push toward a .500 record. Now 9-11 on the season, Arizona’s four-game win streak was snapped on Friday in the series opener against the Braves.

It also ends the D-backs’ 866-game streak of games without a weather postponement, according to MLB’s Steve Gilbert. This had been the longest such stretch for a team since 1990.

The teams are scheduled to play the final two games of the series on Sunday.
