Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson is out Friday against the New York Knicks with a right wrist injury, according to the team’s injury report.

Meanwhile, Jae Crowder was upgraded from out to questionable after missing the past two-plus weeks with an ankle injury.

Crowder was listed as out for Friday when the NBA’s early injury report was released, but he posted a more optimistic possibility on Twitter that he would be back against the Knicks.

Johnson entered gameday listed as questionable before being ruled out. He had not missed time due to the wrist injury leading into Friday but last Sunday was listed as probable before the Suns played the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Relatedly or not, the second-year wing has struggled with his shooting stroke. He’s hit just 31% of his three-point attempts despite taking 5.5 per game over 26 appearances since the All-Star break. Over the past seven games, he’s shot 27% (20-of-74)

Johnson is averaging 9.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season.

Crowder has not played since April 21 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

He is averaging 9.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 38% from three-point range. He started 39 of his 55 games played.

Crowder, Johnson and Abdel Nader (right knee) were the only Suns listed on the injury report Friday.

Nader remains out after undergoing an arthroscopic knee procedure.
