Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner took home Western Conference Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.

It marks the ninth POW award for Griner. She is currently second in franchise history behind Diana Taurasi (20).

Griner recorded back-to-back double doubles last week, averaging 27 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 3.0 assists per game. She shot 75% from the field.

Against the Las Vegas Aces last Wednesday, Griner dropped 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.

It was the ninth time in her career Griner’s posted at least 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in a game. the center is tied for third most all-time with such stats in WNBA history. Lisa Leslie (12) and Candace Parker (11) hold top honors in the category.

Three days later, Griner added another 27 points to go along with 16 rebounds and four assists, both season highs, in Phoenix’s win over Dallas. Her 16 boards were two shy of a career high.

That’s not all Griner did against the Wings.

The dunk marked the 19th career slam she’s notched in the WNBA (13 regular season, one playoff and five All-Star game dunks).
