Barstool Sports is the new sponsor of the Tucson-based Arizona Bowl, the media company announced Tuesday.

Barstool will have exclusive broadcasting rights to the college football postseason game, which previously has been broadcast on CBS Sports.

This season’s edition will take place Dec. 31 at Arizona Stadium.

“I’ve said many times that our ambitions at Barstool is to own the moon,” Barstool President Dave Portnoy said in a press release. “This is a major breakthrough in that regard.”

The Arizona Bowl, which typically features teams from Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference, has been around since 2015.

Nova Home Loans sponsored the game from 2015-19 before Offerpad took over for the 2020 season.

Ball State defeated San Jose State 34-13 in the most recent edition of the game, held on Dec. 31, 2020.
