Cardinals make handful of roster moves, sign veteran DT Jack Crawford

The Arizona Cardinals continued to add to their defensive line depth on Tuesday, as the team announced it has signed veteran defensive tackle Jack Crawford.
Along with the signing of Crawford came Arizona adding tight end Demetrius Harris, plus defensive linemen Margus Hunt and Josh Mauro.
The Cardinals released tight end Cary Angeline, safety Jamal Carter, offensive lineman Ryan Pope and linebacker Donald Rutledge.
Crawford, 32, has been in the league since 2012, when he was selected in the fifth round by the then-Oakland Raiders.
After two years in Oakland, Crawford spent time in Dallas and Atlanta before playing the 2020 season with the Tennessee Titans.

In 2018 with the Falcons, he had a career year by starting 11 games and tallying 35 total tackles, including six sacks. The lineman even had an interception in 2018.
Last season with the Titans, Crawford started nine games at defensive end, recording two sacks and a forced fumble.
The moves come after the team signed fellow defensive tackle Darius Kilgo on Monday.
For Arizona, the four defensive line additions follow Sunday’s news that the team placed nose tackle Xavier Williams on the injured reserve.
Williams was an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa in 2015 and played three seasons with the Cardinals, recording 28 tackles, 0.5 sacks, a forced fumble and two QB hits over 23 games including two starts.
Williams played in 2018 and 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs before splitting last season with the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots, where he combined for 24 tackles and a sack.
The new linemen join an interior of the defensive line that includes Peters, Jordan Phillips and J.J. Watt, plus recent draft picks Zach Allen, Leki Fotu and Rashard Lawrence.
Harris has 79 receptions across 101 career games, Hunt is an eight-year veteran that was last with Cincinnati and Mauro played for the Cardinals last season.
