Arizona State men’s basketball added its first commitment to the 2022 recruiting class on Wednesday, landing center Duke Brennan from local Hillcrest Prep.
Brennan, a 3-star recruit and the No. 20 center in the nation in 247 Sports’ rankings, is listed at 6-foot-10 and 260 pounds on his Twitter profile, which he used to announce his decision.

Brennan had offers from Power Five schools including Georgia, Cal and Oregon State.
This past year for Hillcrest, Brennan averaged 12.5 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 blocks over two games included in MaxPrep’s database.
The big man attended AZ Compress Prep and Perry High School in the Phoenix area before landing at Hillcrest during the pandemic-impacted basketball season. He follows a strong pipeline from Hillcrest Prep to ASU.
Three-star wing Jamiya Neal, a member of the 2021 recruiting class, is set to play for Bobby Hurley’s Sun Devils, while fellow senior Malcolm Flaggs has also committed to Arizona State.
