Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels exited Thursday’s game against Southern Utah with what the broadcast confirmed as cramps.

The Sun Devils led 34-7 with 4:51 remaining in the third quarter when Jayden Daniels fell to the ground.

Daniels was 10-of-12 for 132 yards passing before exiting the game. He also added six carries for 40 yards on the ground.

He returned to the sideline and appeared to be ok with his helmet on his head but did not return in the game as the Sun Devils held a 27-point lead when he went to the locker room.

Daniels was replaced by backup quarterback and redshirt sophomore Trenton Bourguet. Bourguet has attempted two passes in his career prior to Thursday’s game, completing one for 24 yards.

Bourguet finished by completing 3 of 5 passes for 32 yards.

The Sun Devils did not rely on either quarterback much throughout the game as the rushing attack was the story of the night.
