Arizona Coyotes forward Christian Fischer exited Wednesday night’s 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers at Gila River Arena.
The 24-year-old Fischer suffered an upper-body injury and did not return.
head coach Andre Tourigny did not have an update postgame.
Fischer picked up the injury in the first period of the contest while blocking a shot up high.
Coming into Wednesday night’s game against the Rangers, the forward had two goals and three assists for a total of five points on the year.
Fischer has missed six games over the course of the 2021-22 NHL season.
Back in November, he was placed on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury that caused him to miss six contests.
Fischer is averaging 13:17 of ice time this year, the second-highest mark of his six-year career.
However, the forward has not registered a point since Nov. 6’s 5-4 win over the Seattle Kraken and he hasn’t scored since the 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 31.
