With cornerback Marco Wilson’s status up in the air ahead of the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 17 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, the team agreed to sign free agent Bashaud Breeland on Monday, per NFL insider Josina Anderson.
Breeland came in for a workout on Monday before agreeing to the deal, according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
Breeland heads to Arizona after being waived by the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 18.
At the very least, Breeland provides some crucial depth with Wilson dealing with a shoulder injury.
Over 13 games played with the Vikings in 2021, Breeland recorded 63 tackles, two interceptions, five passes defensed and two forced fumbles.
In Minnesota’s Week 2 loss to Arizona, Breeland picked up four tackles and forced a fumble.
Before his time with the Vikings, Breeland also played for the the Washington Football Team (2014-17), the Green Bay Packers (2018) and the the Kansas City Chiefs (2019-20).
The Cardinals take on the Cowboys on Sunday at 2:25 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
