After four seasons at Vanderbilt, Johnson piled up 1,233 yards on 124 receptions while finding the end zone 10 times.
The 6-foot, 200-pound receiver had his best season as a junior in 2020-21, where he caught 56 passes for 545 yards.
Last season, Johnson had 34 catches with 327 yards and four touchdowns.
He fielded a handful of kick and punt returns for the Commodores and could be an option for ASU in the special teams department.
A four-star recruit in 2018 as a prospect, Johnson still has two additional years of eligibility.
The Sun Devils were active in the transfer portal as well earlier in the week, landing the commitment of Florida transfer quarterback Emory Jones.
Jones is coming off of a 2021 season where he threw for 2,734 yards and 19 touchdowns. An effective runner, Jones racked up 759 yards on the ground.
He joins the mix of five other ASU quarterbacks that will look to throw to Johnson and the other Sun Devils receivers.
ASU begins the 2022 season at Sun Devil Stadium against Northern Arizona on Sept. 1.
