Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. ruled out with concussion after exiting vs. Packers

It was an injury-riddled first half for the Arizona Cardinals in Green Bay against the Packers on Sunday, as Marvin Harrison Jr. and three starting defenders exited with injuries.

The rookie wide receiver appeared to take a hard hit to the head on his way down after failing to bring in a reception on two targets in the half. He was ruled out with a concussion early in the second half, the team said.

After he initially exited the blue medical tent, he was on the sideline looking ready to come back in before coaches pulled him back and took him to the locker room, azcentral’s Theo Mackie reported.

By the time he left for the locker room, the Cardinals had just two completions through the air before scoring on the first full drive without Harrison to cut the Packers’ lead to 24-7. Arizona added a field goal to end the half down 24-10.

Cardinals DL Bilal Nichols and CB Sean Murphy-Bunting out vs. Packers

Defensive lineman Bilal Nichols (stinger) and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (neck) were ruled out after they exited the game.

Murphy-Bunting had one of the brightest moments of the day, an interception at the end of the first half that led to three Arizona points.

Kyzir White also left the first half with a knee injury and was deemed questionable to return. Depth safety Joey Blount was also ruled questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

Arizona struggled to contain a Packers run game that was averaging 4.8 yards on 15 carries on their way to 72 first-half yards. Jacobs handled much of that with 46 yards on 11 carries for 4.2 yards per go to that point.

Linebacker depth coming into the game included Week 5 standout Jesse Luketa, who had a key forced fumble against the San Francisco 49ers in Arizona’s win.

Victor Dimukeje, who has three tackles and one tackle for loss in three games, was among Arizona’s inactive players for the game.

The Arizona defense played a first quarter riddled with miscues, including three offsides penalties after the Cardinals came into the game as the least penalized team in the NFL.
