The Arizona Wildcats will suit up in an all-red jersey combination for their homecoming game Saturday against Colorado, but it’s their cactus logo helmets that will be the most talked-about piece of their jerseys.
The new alternate look features the logo that resided on the McKale Center court and was featured starting in 1981, according to SportsLogos.net. It was used as a secondary logo into the 2010s.

It includes the block letters “ARIZONA” with a green saguaro cactus rising out of the “I.”
A blue three-peaked mountain and red sun behind it create a simple but recognizable desert scene.
The Wildcats didn’t need to do much with the new lids. The old cactus logo sits on a white base, and red and blue stripes down the crown of the tops remain.
This season, Arizona has been aggressive in calling back to the past with its helmets specifically.
Against Kansas State, the Wildcats wore “Cats” helmets of metallic red with the shortened mascot name written in a cursive script on the side.
