The roof at State Farm Stadium is expected to be open on Sunday as the Arizona Cardinals host the Chicago Bears, the team announced.
Fans were advised to dress accordingly for the 2:05 p.m. MST kickoff, as temperatures have started to cool down following an extended heatwave last month.
The temperature on Sunday is expected to peak at 71 degrees around kickoff before a gradual cooldown, according to the National Weather Service, which collects its data for Glendale at the municipal airport about three miles west of the stadium.
There is also a chance for rain during the afternoon, per NWS.
Sunday will be the second time the roof has been open this season and mark back-to-back home games. It was open for the Cardinals’ 17-15 win on Monday Night Football on Oct. 21.
The Bears are 0-17 in true road games played on Sunday since head coach Matt Eberflus took the reins in 2022. However, Chicago is 3-0 all-time at State Farm Stadium.
