Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will play on Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers after he was deemed a game-time decision.
Philadelphia’s Paul George is expected to make his team debut after a left knee bone bruise kept him out for five games to start the season. George was listed as probable for Monday’s game after signing with the 76ers over the offseason following a five-year stint with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Beal has been dealing with a right elbow sprain, which head coach Mike Budenholzer explained to reporters pregame has had “nagging” effects. The veteran played on Saturday in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers after missing Thursday’s matchup with the Clippers. Beal has missed two of Phoenix’s first six games this year.
“Each day, how you wake up from contact, sometimes you take hits in games that you don’t feel till the next morning, or things that I would put it in that category,” Budenholzer said. “We’re hoping we get past that. We didn’t do anything yesterday and just shootaround this morning, so no contact, no anything for him between the game and now. But it’s just kind of a nagging, irritating thing.”
Beal played 34 minutes against Portland and contributed 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
He is scoring 17.3 points in 35.8 minutes per games this season.
The 76ers will not have superstar center Joel Embiid, who has yet to play this year due to left knee injury management.
The game will tip off from Footprint Center at 8:15 p.m. on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
